The word “Hinter” comes from the idea of the hinterlands — the places just beyond what’s mapped and manicured. The unseen edges. The in-between spaces. “Hinterwood” is my way of describing the heart of the moments I’m drawn to: honest, earthy, a little wild, and often overlooked. The kind of beauty you only notice when you slow down long enough to truly see it.

I’m Jazlyn, a lifestyle photographer based in Southwest Missouri, drawn to earthy tones, raw connection, and the kind of storytelling that feels lived-in and honest. Whether it’s a family wrapped in the last light of the day or a couple leaning into the small, unspoken moments between them, I’m interested in the truth beneath the pose — the memory being made even as I capture it.

I’m also a mother of three, which means I understand chaos, tenderness, and fleeting seasons more than anything. The laughter, the clinginess, the independence that arrives too fast — I know how precious it all is. That’s why my approach is simple: gently led, deeply observant, and always anchored in authenticity.
